Tibetian Mother’s Kitchen, Koramangala, Bangalore, India

It’s a hotel you could easily miss as it’s on the first floor on top of a juice joint, so watch out. A narrow flight of stairs to the Restaurant will be pretty challenging for elders. On the first floor was a pretty small Restaurant but as soon as we entered, it gave us an authentic Tibetian vibe.

The menu had everything from soups, starters, main course, Tibetian bread and soft drinks. There was vegetarian and non vegetarian in all sections. You get everything ranging from Singaporean Fried Rice, Chicken Momos, Chilly Panner to Lemon Tea, but you have to taste their Tibetian Dishes.

The waiter, gave us a tour of their menu and adviced us to order the best of what they had so, we literally ordered all of their special Tibetan Dishes to give it a try as it was fascinating and new, which we have not discovered in our lives.

The staff were very patient, passionate, and warm towards all of their customers. They were really friendly, which lightens up the mood and gives you an comfortable feeling.

Chicken Thupka (the picture above), it’s basically thin noodles with soup. It was spicy and delicious, it was truly something we haven’t tasted before. The chicken was tenderly cooked and juicy! The rice noodles took in the flavour of the soup. The soup had all the essence of galangal(young ginger), lemongrass, onions, red chilli and chicken. The freshly chopped cilantro and scallion topped it all off!

Chicken Thenthuk, it’s a flat rice noodles dish. We can order it dry or with gravy, we went for the dry one. The Thenthuk was simple but extraordinary, the chicken had a really unique taste and it was hot and spicy! The taste of Thai Chilli used gives the hot spicy feel when it hits your palate. This should be on your “Must Taste” list! Every dish is finished off with a natural and green twist of fresh cilantro and herbs.

Chicken Laphing

Minced chicken cooked with spices and wrapped around by Mung Bean Noodle. It’s cooked generously with red chillies and other spices, but particularly with a lot of garlic and served with soy sauce. The Laphing was a blast of flavors and it’s the best dish overall!

The Classic Chicken Egg Fried Rice from Tibetian Mother’s Kitchen. Needless to ask it was authentic and mouth watering, this fried rice will stand out from the other fried rice you’ve ever tasted. Every aspect of a fried rice is delivered here from the slight saltiness of the soy sauce and spicy aftertaste of the white pepper is perfectly delivered. Every dish you order here is genuine and classic!

The Schezwan Chicken was spicy and served piping hot, it was finger licking good and definitely will make you visit this place again! Boneless chicken cooked to perfection in Hot Chilli Gravy and left on the wok to let the chicken embibe the gravy.

So, overall this place is A MUST VISIT whether you are living in Bangalore or visiting Bangalore. It gives you an deviation from the regular fried rice, noodles and chilli chicken of your local food joints.

It’s definitely soul food and will keep you wanting to come here often.

The prices are nominal and it’s definitely worth it. If you were to have a well satisfying meal with soup, starters, main course and drink it would sum up to ₹300-₹350 per head which isn’t much compared to other places in Bangalore which offers a similar cuisine. This is what we ordered and it roughly came to about ₹900
